Mallorie's Grassroots Milk Carton Campaign Kicks Off

May 18, 2005
Silverton, Oregon

Oregonians who buy milk products from Mallorie's Spring Valley , and other brands originating from their cows will soon notice Action Alert appeals on the milk cartons.

According to Richard Mallorie, Mallorie's Dairy owner and President, the message "Save Our Family Farm" and a call to action are printed onto over 100,000 milk cartons a week.

These cartons are distributed to more than 20 major grocery store chains, and dozens of small stores throughout Western and Central Oregon .

"We need a wide-range response from Oregonians who want to keep milk prices low and our independent, low-priced milk supply on their shelves. Tell the USDA to back off of their pending decision to penalize the small dairies like ours", said Mr. Mallorie.

Regardless of whose milk consumers buy, EVERYONE has a stake in this outcome - the price of milk WILL go up, and jobs WILL be lost. Don't think it can happen?

Have you checked out the price of oil these days?

Take action today - use the handy communication system on our website www.keepmilkpriceslow.org and send USDA a message today.
