Established in 1954 by Bob Mallorie. Trained as a veterinarian, he purchased his own registered herd and began operating as a producer handler, which the dairy has done for nearly 50 years. Despite Dr. Mallorie's passing, Mallorie's Dairy remains a family operation and includes three generations of family members in the business and has 80 employees. Mallorie's Dairy produces fresh milk that is rBST free and claims its customers prefer their milk for its quality and taste. Their monthly production is approximately 4,500,000 pounds. Mallorie's serves independent distributors and several large independent grocery. "The only new markets available to us are those markets which have been abandoned by the large handlers," said business manager, Charlie Flanagan. "The imposition of a cap on the production of producer handlers would increase our operating costs and seriously impact our ability to continue our operation," he said.
